The delivery of modern medical equipment to Rubaare Health Centre IV marks a major milestone ahead of the commissioning of the Mama Kariisa Maternity Ward in Ntungamo District.

The fully equipped ward, donated by the Kariisa family in support of the Rotary Club of Kigo Seven Lakes Golf, has received a range of essential medical supplies aimed at strengthening maternal and newborn healthcare services.

The equipment delivered includes baby warmers, baby incubators, theatre lights, patient monitors, and stainless steel trolleys, among others.

Health officials say the new additions will significantly improve the facility’s ability to handle both routine deliveries and emergency maternal cases.

The commissioning of the maternity ward is scheduled for March 28, 2026, and is expected to draw key stakeholders, health professionals, and community members.

Once operational, the Mama Kariisa Maternity Ward is expected to ease pressure on existing health services in the area and provide safer, more efficient care for mothers and infants.

The project highlights the growing role of partnerships between private individuals and community organisations in improving healthcare access, particularly in underserved regions.

Leaders involved in the initiative say the development reflects a shared commitment to strengthening community health systems and reducing maternal and neonatal risks through better-equipped facilities.
