As part of the ongoing field visit to Uganda’s oil and gas operational areas, the delegation from the Office of the Auditor General (OAG) toured the Central Processing Facility (CPF) located within the Tilenga Industrial Area.

The Tilenga Industrial Area hosts critical infrastructure supporting the project, including the Central Processing Facility, Drilling Support Base, Construction Camp, and Supply Base, all of which play a key role in the development and implementation of the Tilenga Project.

Once completed, the Tilenga CPF will have the capacity to process up to 190,000 barrels of oil per day (bopd) at peak production.

Crude oil from 29 well pads located both north and south of the River Nile will be transported to the facility through an integrated network of pipelines.

Construction of the Central Processing Facility is being undertaken by Sinopec, one of the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractors for the project.

The visit provided the OAG delegation with an opportunity to observe the scale of infrastructure under development and gain a deeper understanding of the operational and technical aspects supporting Uganda’s upstream oil and gas projects.
