Former Buganda Kingdom Minister for Social Services (Education and Health) and the Office of the Nnaabagereka, Prosperous Nakindu Kavuma, has urged heads of departments and institutions to prioritise staff education advancement, describing it as essential for improving professionalism, skills development and service delivery.

Nakindu made the remarks during a graduation celebration held in honour of Juliet Nakasagga, a kingdom civil servant who was awarded a Diploma in Business Administration from Muteesa I Royal University.

She emphasised that enabling employees to further their studies strengthens not only individual capacity but also institutional performance through enhanced efficiency, innovation and accountability.

“Continuous learning equips workers with modern management skills and a deeper understanding of their responsibilities,” Nakindu said, calling on leaders in both public and private institutions to invest deliberately in staff development.

She further encouraged employers to adopt flexible working arrangements that allow employees to pursue academic advancement while maintaining their professional duties.

According to Nakindu, institutions that support staff education are more likely to cultivate motivated, competent and forward-thinking teams capable of adapting to evolving service demands.

In her remarks, Nakasagga expressed gratitude to the leadership of the Buganda Kingdom for granting her the opportunity to pursue further studies while continuing to serve.

She pledged to apply the knowledge and skills acquired from her diploma programme to improve service delivery and execute her duties with greater dedication and excellence.

The event drew colleagues, friends and well-wishers who commended Nakasagga for her commitment to personal and professional growth, describing her achievement as an example to other civil servants within the Kingdom and beyond.
