Tayebwa Congratulates Lubaale on Election as Busoga Diocese Bishop
Deputy Speaker of Parliament Thomas Tayebwa has congratulated Rev Canon Grace Lubaale on his election as the 4th Bishop of Busoga Diocese, praising his academic credentials, leadership experience, and patriotism. The consecration is set for December 14, 2025, at Christ Cathedral Bugembe in Jinja.

The Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Thomas Tayebwa, has congratulated Rev Canon Grace Lubaale on his election as the 4th Bishop of Busoga Diocese.

Professor Lubaale paid a courtesy visit to Tayebwa at Parliament, where he prayed for the Deputy Speaker and invited him to his consecration ceremony scheduled for December 14, 2025, at Christ Cathedral Bugembe in Jinja.

Tayebwa praised Lubaale's academic background, noting his PhD in Development Studies and his experience as a hands-on leader.

“With a PhD in Development Studies and being a hands-on person, I have no doubt that, beyond providing spiritual nourishment to the flock, he will play a critical role in the development of Busoga,” Tayebwa said.

The Deputy Speaker also highlighted Professor Lubaale's exceptional negotiation skills and patriotism, which he demonstrated during his tenure as Chairman of the Kyambogo University Academic Staff Association.

“I coordinated closely with Lubaale on enhancement of university academic staff remuneration... He exhibited high-level skills of negotiation with a strong sense of patriotism,” Tayebwa recalled.

Tayebwa concluded by wishing Lubaale all the best in his new role, expressing confidence that he would provide spiritual leadership while contributing to the socio-economic transformation of Busoga Diocese.
