The Road to Makkah campaign aims to provide guidance and support to prospective pilgrims, raise awareness about the Hajj and Umrah pilgrimages, offer practical preparation and spiritual insights to pilgrims, create a sense of community among Ugandan pilgrims and their families

Salam TV, in collaboration with Ugandan Hajj Companies, has officially launched the Road to Makkah 2026 campaign, a program designed to guide Muslims through the journey of Hajj and Umrah. The campaign, now in its fourth year, aims to prepare Ugandans for the pilgrimage by providing awareness, guidance, and support systems to make the journey to Makkah and Madinah smoother.

The launch event, held at Next Media Park on October 7, 2025, was graced by His Excellency Sheikh Sulaiman Ggugwa, the Ugandan Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In his remarks, Ambassador Ggugwa highlighted the significance of Hajj as a unifying force for Ugandans.

"We appreciate the efforts of Salam TV and its partners in making this campaign a success," Ambassador Ggugwa said. "Hajj is a journey that requires preparation, dedication, and commitment. We pray that Allah guides and accepts the sacrifices of all pilgrims."

Salam TV's Managing Director, Hajj Karim Kaliisa, also spoke at the event, emphasizing the importance of collaboration in achieving the campaign's objectives. "Through Road to Makkah, we aim to bring believers closer to the pilgrimage experience by offering guidance, sharing testimonies, and streaming precious moments from the holy places," he said.

The campaign will run for the next eight months, culminating in the 2026-2027 Hajj season. It will feature various initiatives, including practical preparation, spiritual insights, and testimonials from pilgrims who have completed the journey.

The Road to Makkah campaign has been supported by several Hajj companies over the years, including: Tawakkal Travels: Partnered in 2022 and 2023, Almisbahu Hijja & Umrah Services: Partnered in 2022, Weli Travel: Partnered in 2023, 2024, and 2025, Muzaata Hijja & Umrah Travels: Partnered in 2024 and 2025

The Road to Makkah campaign aims to provide guidance and support to prospective pilgrims, raise awareness about the Hajj and Umrah pilgrimages, offer practical preparation and spiritual insights to pilgrims, create a sense of community among Ugandan pilgrims and their families

By working together, Salam TV and its partners hope to make the development of the Road to Makkah campaign a success through providing a valuable resource for the Muslim community in Uganda.
