A wave of shock gripped Kilembe Quarters in Kasese Municipality this morning after Gabriel Mugabi, a carpenter in his early 40s suddenly collapsed while crossing the road to his workplace.
Police report that the incident occurred around 9am, with Mugabi falling and dying on the spot.
The Kasese Central Police Station (CPS) Homicide Team quickly arrived at the scene and transported the body to Kasese Municipal Council Health Centre III for a postmortem examination.
Rwenzori East Police Spokesperson, SP Nelson Tumushime, used the incident to advise the public on the importance of health awareness.
“Sudden deaths are often linked to chronic illnesses such as hypertension and heart disease. We encourage residents to prioritize regular medical checkups, healthy eating, exercise, and stress management to reduce health risks,” he stated.
