The Uganda Police Force has conducted a one-day sensitization workshop aimed at enhancing officers’ capacity in customer care and records management.
Held at the Police Headquarters in Naguru, the training brought together officers from various directorates to improve how they handle public interactions, manage official records, and support retirees within the Force.
The session was officially opened by the Director of Human Resource Administration, AIGP Jesse Kamunanwire, who emphasized the importance of professionalism, empathy, and efficient service delivery in modern policing.
“We are not only here to enforce the law but also to serve the people with dignity and respect,” said Kamunanwire.
“Enhancing customer care and proper records management is essential in building public trust and improving internal systems.”
The workshop focused on:
Strengthening officers’ customer service skills
Promoting effective records handling for better administrative efficiency
Encouraging empathy and respectful engagement with the public
Preparing officers to support retirees and transitioning personnel
Participants were also trained on best practices in handling inquiries, safeguarding documentation, and fostering a service-oriented approach within their daily operations.
The initiative forms part of broader institutional efforts to improve transparency, accountability, and the overall image of the Uganda Police Force.
