Motor mouthed political commentator, Frank Gashumba is the latest prisoner with the Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence (CMI).
Mr Gashumba last night used his Facebook page to communicate he had been picked by CMI.
“I have been detained by CMI without an explanation right now in Mbuya,” he said on Facebook.
Last week, the CMI began making arrests purportedly on orders of president Museveni. Among those arrested so far include; former commander police Special Operations Unit, Senior Superintendent of Police Nixon Agasiirwe, Senior Commissioner of Police Joel Aguma(Commandant of Professional Standard Unit), Sgt Abel Tumukunde ( Flying Squad) Assistant Superintendent of Police Magada (Crime Intelligence) and Faisal Katende(Flying Squad).
Consequently, the group was charged with the kidnap of Lieutenant Joel Mutabaazi and his brother Jackson Kalemera, contrary to Section 242 of the Penal Code Act.
However, sources reveal that the arrest of Gashumba is not related to the matter.
By time of filing this story, armed officers were at the home of Gashumba in Bunga, carrying out a search.
Mr Gashumba runs an NGO known as Sisimuka Uganda. It falls under his Mali Group of companies. However, he has made it a habit to critique the government using his widely followed social media platforms.
