Forty-one officers from the Uganda Police Force's Senior Command and Staff College, Intake 008/2024–2025, have embarked on a five-day national study tour aimed at sharpening their leadership capabilities and deepening their understanding of Uganda’s critical development sectors.
The study tour, which runs from June 30 to July 4, 2025, forms part of the Force’s broader initiative to professionalize its leadership and bolster strategic command functions within the institution.
Over the course of the tour, the officers will visit various institutions across the country that are at the forefront of Uganda’s economic and technological transformation.
The sectors under focus include Industry, Agriculture, Research and Innovation, the Service Sector, and Anti-Crime Infrastructure.
By engaging with experts and observing practical models in these sectors, the officers are expected to gain valuable insights that will inform effective leadership, policy development, and operational excellence within the Force.
“The purpose of this tour is not just academic,” officials from the Senior Command and Staff College noted. “It is a hands-on opportunity to cultivate innovative thinking, strategic planning, and adaptive leadership that align with Uganda’s development agenda.”
The study tour reflects the Police Force’s commitment to building a knowledge-driven leadership structure capable of responding to complex security and development challenges, while contributing meaningfully to national progress.
