Salam TV Welcomes Back Hajj Ssebuliba from Historic Hajj and Umrah Pilgrimage

Salam TV has welcomed home its own Hajji Ssebuliba Hassan Sibu, who returned this week from the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah after undertaking the Hajj and Umrah pilgrimage in 2025.

Hajj Ssebuliba served as Salam TV’s on-ground media personnel throughout the pilgrimage, offering Ugandans vivid and spiritually enriching coverage of the sacred rituals.

His work was broadcast across Next Media platforms, including Salam TV, NBS, and Sanyuka, allowing viewers both in Uganda and the diaspora to experience the journey in real time.

The historic media initiative was made possible through a partnership between Salam TV and Weli Travel, who facilitated Hajj Ssebuliba’s journey and logistical support in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Speaking after his return, Hajji Ssebuliba expressed deep gratitude for the opportunity and emphasized the spiritual and professional significance of the assignment.

“The experience was truly enriching. I urge all financially able youth to prepare—spiritually and physically—and seize the opportunity to perform Hajj and Umrah,” he said.

Hajj Karim Kaliisa, managing director of Salam TV and Salam Charity, praised Hajj Ssebuliba’s dedication and the impact of his coverage on the Ugandan Muslim community.

“We are grateful for Hajji Sibu’s exceptional work in bringing the Hajj and Umrah experience to our viewers. His effort helped bridge the gap between Ugandan Muslims and the global Muslim ummah,” Kaliisa said.

Hajj Ssebuliba’s content included 360-degree footage and live updates that captured the essence of the pilgrimage—from Tawaf around the Kaaba to prayers at the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah—creating a deep sense of connection and reflection among Muslim audiences back home.

Salam TV, Uganda’s pioneering Islamic television channel, reaffirmed its commitment to promoting Islamic values, spiritual education, and cultural exchange.

The station said initiatives like this not only inform and inspire, but also serve to unify Ugandan Muslims with the wider Islamic world.

Through partnerships and on-the-ground reporting, Salam TV continues to position itself as a vital platform for connecting faith, community, and media in Uganda.
