National Unity Platform (NUP) Secretary General David Lewis Rubongoya has defended the recent delegates’ conference, revealing that it addressed several critical matters that, in his view, would have been better handled privately.

“The delegates’ conference handled other critical issues of the party that we felt should have been handled behind closed doors,” Rubongoya said.

He also clarified the process for selecting the party’s presidential flag bearer, emphasising that it differs from how other positions are handled.

“Under our constitution, the presidential flag bearer undergoes different processes than, for example, MP flag bearers. This is why the presidential flag bearer will be determined at a later stage,” Rubongoya explained.
