Kasese Resident District Commissioner, Lt. Joe Walusimbi, warned the public against any form of extortion during the process, reminding them that the renewal is entirely free of charge.

“This exercise is completely free. No one should pay any money to be registered. If anyone asks for money, report them immediately to the authorities. We are here to protect you.”

Arthur Katongole, the District Registration Officer with the National Identification and Registration Authority (NIRA), assured residents of a smooth and transparent process, backed by capable staff and reliable equipment.

“We have deployed a committed team and equipped them with modern tools to ensure a quick, transparent, and efficient registration process. Every resident of Kasese will be served in time.”

The exercise comes at a critical time when the government is updating the National Identification and Registration system to enhance service delivery, improve national security, and enable citizens to access government programs with ease.

The mass registration and renewal campaign is expected to run over the coming weeks, with mobile outreach teams dispatched across the district to ensure no one is left behind
