By | May 22, 2025

Kazo District Local Government has proudly celebrated a remarkable milestone after being ranked 14th in the 2023–2024 National Assessment conducted by the Office of the Prime Minister.

The performance is  a significant leap from its previous 31st position in the 2022–2023 evaluation, highlighting the district’s dedication to service delivery, leadership, and community development.

The celebration was held at Kazo District Headquarters, drawing together district leaders, technocrats, and stakeholders who applauded the achievement as a collective victory.

Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) Hajji Badru Mayanja Majwala attributed the success to collective effort and unwavering support from the central government.

“I sincerely thank  President Museveni and the central government for standing with us,” said Hajji Mayanja.

“This achievement is a result of teamwork. I commend the efforts of both the technical and political wings, as well as all our stakeholders."

District Speaker Dan Bwamunyoga echoed these sentiments, emphasizing unity among district leaders as the cornerstone of their progress.

“The unity and collaboration within our council and leadership structure have been key in achieving this milestone,” he said. “We pledge continued support to ensure Kazo keeps progressing.”

District Chairperson Rev. Samuel Mugisha Katugunda praised the dedication of the entire district leadership and residents, noting that the achievement reflects the spirit of resilience that defines Kazo.

“This success belongs to all of us. I thank everyone for the teamwork and also appreciate the NRM government for the development they continue to bring to our country,” he remarked.

Deputy Resident District Commissioner Bazirio Paddy Mugisha urged leaders to maintain the current momentum.

“This is a great performance. Let’s work even harder to keep improving,” he said, encouraging all leaders and staff to remain focused on service delivery.

Carved out of Kiruhura District in 2019, Kazo has demonstrated exceptional growth in a short span of time. Its 14th-place ranking out of all local governments, both old and new, stands as a testament to the resilience, commitment, and visionary leadership of its administrators and community members.

The celebration served not only as recognition of past efforts but also as a renewed call to action: to aim even higher in the years ahead.
