As Uganda joins the rest of the world to celebrate Eid Al Fitr feast, Sheikh Badiya A. Faraj, the Deputy Khadi for Acholi Muslim District has called upon Ugandans to improve their attitude towards work.

The deputy Kadhi who led the prayers at Gulu public primary school play grounds said poor work attitude is leading to family break ups.

"Some of us don't want to work which leads to the disintegration of families, it leads to violence", he said.

"The holy prophet taught us that we should eat from our sweat that is by working".

Sheikh Badiya is especially critical of young men who waste their time socializing in town centers, indulging in pass time activities such playing cards instead of working to support their families.

The message of the Khadi was re-echoed by the Imam of the Jamiya mosque Sheikh Ismail Omona, and the Division mayor of Pece-Laroo Geoffrey Otim.

The acting district Khadi also emphasized on the need to embrace education by both the young and the old.

"That is why there are refresher courses," he said as he cajoled the old to keep seeking for more knowledge especially in theology.

The  Deputy Khadi for Acholi Muslim District also expressed his support for the leadership of Mufti Mubaje who was recently given another five years .

"Let us not put our hands in removing leaders, because leaders are chosen by Allah," he said.

He further described the next five years as a transitional period in the leadership of the Muslim community across the country.

The Khadhi also also prayed for harmony within the refugee communities in the country who are experiencing war back at home in  Sudan and other war torn countries.
