Officials said the donation was timely to the construction efforts

Salam Charity has received a generous donation of 300 bags of cement to further the construction of Nakaloke Central Mosque in Mbale City.

The contribution comes from two key donors: 100 bags from Lydia Wanyoto, Chairperson of the NRM Women’s League, and 200 bags from Hajj Sulaiman Nyanzi and his associates.

The donation was officially handed over at the mosque’s construction site, where Wanyoto reaffirmed her commitment to the success of the project.

She highlighted the significance of community-driven efforts to ensure the timely completion of the mosque.

Hajj Sulaiman Nyanzi also expressed his appreciation for Wanyoto's relentless advocacy for the Muslim community, particularly her dedication to resource mobilisation.

“We came to know about this great initiative through Wanyoto,” said one of the donors.

The Nakaloke Mosque Committee Chairperson, Hajj Isma Walujjo Mukankadi, expressed profound gratitude for the donation, calling it a timely intervention that will accelerate construction.

Mukankadi noted that the first phase of the project is nearing completion, with the focus now on erecting pillars and walls for the final floor, followed by the roofing and finishing stages.

Mukankadi also commended Salam Charity for its consistent fundraising efforts, stating that their unwavering support has been pivotal in keeping the project on track.

With ongoing contributions and collaboration, the Nakaloke Central Mosque is poised to become a significant religious and community landmark, serving both spiritual and social needs in the region.
