Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Nile Breweries and AP University of Applied Sciences & Arts in Belgium to establish an Industrial Technology Hub.

The partnership, formalized on February 14, 2025, aims to bridge Uganda’s workforce skills gap by equipping students with industry-ready expertise while fostering research and innovation.

According to MUST Vice Chancellor Prof. Pauline Byakika-Kibwika, who led the signing ceremony, the initiative is a significant investment in Uganda’s workforce.

“With industry players on board, our students will receive hands-on training, undertake research, and access internship and employment opportunities,” she said.

A representative from Nile Breweries welcomed the collaboration, emphasizing its potential to benefit both the private sector and Uganda’s economy.

“We are thrilled to partner with MUST and AP University of Applied Sciences & Arts to establish this Industrial Technology Hub. This initiative will not only enhance workforce skills but also contribute to national development,” the representative noted.

The Industrial Technology Hub marks a major milestone in MUST’s efforts to equip students with practical skills, preparing them for the evolving demands of the modern job market.
