Museveni to Visit Ankole for PDM Assessment Tour Before March
President Museveni is set to visit the Ankole sub-region for his Parish Development Model (PDM) assessment tour following a week-long break, Minister for ICT and National Guidance Dr. Chris Baryomunsi has revealed.
Speaking to the press, Baryomunsi noted that Museveni concluded his Kigezi tour on February 15, 2025, after launching the exercise in Kisoro on February 12. He is expected to resume his zonal tours the following week, beginning with Ankole.

“The president has been in Kigezi since February 12 up to February 15. He will take a one-week break and then continue with his PDM assessment tour in Ankole,” Baryomunsi said.
Given Ankole’s vast size comprising 12 districts and one city Baryomunsi suggested that the tour might last longer than usual.
“Being a large sub-region, we might recommend that he allocate four or five days instead of the usual three to cover all areas effectively,” he stated.
Museveni’s itinerary typically begins with visits to outstanding PDM beneficiaries or promising farmers. In Ankole, he is expected to tour four districts per day, visit selected farmers, and commission government projects.
The sub-region, which includes Bushenyi, Rubirizi, Mitooma, Buhweju, Sheema, Mbarara, Ibanda, Kazo, Kiruhura, Isingiro, Rwampara, Ntungamo, and Mbarara City, has faced challenges in PDM implementation.
These include irregular disbursements, public misconceptions about the funds, and widespread reports of bribery and corruption, particularly in Sheema and Rwampara.
Following Ankole, Museveni will proceed with his PDM tours in Tooro/Rwenzori, then Bunyoro, before concluding in Buganda. Baryomunsi urged local leaders to prepare for the president’s visit.
