The Speaker of Parliament, Anita Among, has applauded speakers from across the country for their vital role in strengthening governance and democracy.
Speaking at their annual general meeting held at Wakisha Resource Centre in Wakiso district on Friday, she emphasized the importance of their work in ensuring effective leadership and service delivery.

“You play a crucial role in governance by ensuring that policies and decisions made at different levels of leadership reflect the needs of the people. Your efforts contribute significantly to the development of our country,” Speaker Among stated.
During the meeting, speakers raised several concerns, citing obstacles that hinder their effectiveness. In response, Speaker Among assured them of her commitment to addressing their challenges.
“I pledge to do my best to address the issues that you have highlighted so that you can execute your duties more efficiently,” she promised.
She also expressed her deep appreciation for the trust and confidence placed in her as their patron, vowing to continue advocating for their interests.
“It is an honor to be your patron. I will always stand with you and ensure that your concerns are heard at the highest levels,” she remarked.
