A section of Senior Politicians have expressed concern over the rising trend of political extremism and intolerance amongst politicians and their supporters- arguing; the country needs to develop strong ideological foundations and convictions.
Cecilia Ogwal the Opposition parliamentary commissioner and Dokolo woman MP believes it is time for the diplomatic corps to intervene in Uganda’s internal matters.
Since the by-elections in Arua, Jinja and Bugiri Municipalities, the politics of intolerance which include the stoning of the Presidential motorcade, pelting bottles at some Musicians, torturing of some legislators, soldiers beating protesters and journalists in Kampala among others have all led to the current political theatre.

To these two senior politicians, Ugandans should understand that leadership is management of society where discussion, reasoning, building consensus should be at the center stage.
To Dokolo Woman MP Cecilia Ogwal flanked by other legislators, there is need for the Diplomatic Communities in Uganda to intervene and guide the political destiny of the country.
