The Speaker of Parliament Anita Annet Among has paid tribute to the late Brig. Gen. Charles Oluka, Director General of the Internal Security Organisation (ISO), describing him as a dedicated patriot who served his country with commitment.

"This morning, I joined the family of Brig. Gen. Charles Oluka... to offer my condolences during this difficult time. Charles was not only a personal friend but also a dedicated patriot who served his country with commitment. His passing is indeed a profound loss," Among said in a post on her X platform.

Among's message was a heartfelt expression of grief and solidarity with the family, friends, and the entire Uganda People's Defence Forces (UPDF) fraternity.

Brig. Gen. Oluka's passing has sent shockwaves throughout the country, with many remembering him as a hard-working and committed individual who played a crucial role in maintaining national security.

As Director General of ISO, Oluka was instrumental in apprehending criminals involved in the Greater Masaka machete attacks that left nearly 30 people dead between July and September 2021.

His leadership and expertise will be deeply missed, and his legacy will continue to inspire those who knew him.
