The Democratic Party (DP) has announced the convening of its National Council (NC) meeting, slated for Friday, March 7, 2025, in Soroti City.

This gathering will bring together party leaders and members to deliberate on critical issues affecting the party and the country.

According to the notice issued by Hon. Siranda Gerald Blacks, the DP Secretary General and East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) Member of Parliament, the meeting is convened under Article 16 of the party's constitution and will feature a comprehensive agenda addressing organisational and national concerns.

The Secretary General is expected to present updates on Democratic Party activities, the roadmap for grassroots mobilisation, membership registration, leadership renewal, and preparations for the 2026 general elections.

The meeting is also expected to discuss the controversial Cooperation agreement signed between the DP president general, Nobert Mao and the ruling government.
