Swarm of bees invades Abim Magistrate's Court, causes Panic and temporary escape of inmates

A swarm of bees disrupted proceedings at the Abim Magistrate's Court on Tuesday, causing chaos and widespread panic.
The unexpected invasion forced court staff, prison and police officers, litigants, and remandees to flee for safety, according to Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Patrick Onyango.
The incident occurred during a court session when the bees attacked everyone present.
"The swarm caused panic, and in the ensuing commotion, 12 remandees and seven suspects temporarily escaped," Onyango said in a statement.
Efforts to restore order began immediately after the bees dispersed, with authorities launching a manhunt for the escapees.
Onyango confirmed that security has been heightened to prevent further incidents.
The cause of the bee invasion remains unclear, but investigations are ongoing.
No serious injuries have been reported.
