UMSC appoints four new district Kadhis

The Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC) has announced the appointment of four new District Kadhis following a competitive selection process.

The appointments, made by Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje, the Mufti of Uganda, were officially communicated through a statement signed by Sheikh Imran Abdunoor Ssali, the UMSC Secretary for Religious Affairs.

The newly appointed Kadhis include Sheikh Ramadhan Muhammad Museregu for Butaleja Muslim District, Sheikh Huzaima Magumba for Bugweri Muslim District, Sheikh Abubakari Waiswa for Buyende Muslim District, and Sheikh Muhammad Yunusu Kibuuka for Kyegegwa Muslim District.

The selection process involved a rigorous assessment conducted by an Ad-hoc Committee of the Majlis Al Ulama (College of Eminent Sheikhs).

Candidates underwent both oral and written interviews to evaluate their suitability for the roles.

Sheikh Ssali emphasised that these appointments are part of the UMSC's broader strategy to strengthen leadership and governance within the council's administrative framework.

"The newly appointed Kadhis are expected to play pivotal roles in guiding the Muslim community in their respective districts and ensuring effective service delivery," he said.
