The Imams were led by Haj Nasur Abdallah Musoke, Chairman of Nabugabo Swadaka, a community-based association focused on spreading Islam in remote areas of Uganda.

Muluubya expressed gratitude for the Imams' involvement in refresher training programs held each December by Nabugabo Swadaka.

These programs, according to Haj Musoke, aim to equip Imams with updated knowledge despite their busy schedules.

Muluubya also commended Nabugabo Swadaka for its innovative initiatives, such as life skills training programs for Imams leading mosques, particularly in hard-to-reach areas.

These programs, he noted, are in line with the UMSC's ten-year strategic plan. “We really thank you for partnering with us in this aspect,” Muluubya added.

Furthermore, Muluubya urged the Imams to promote unity among the Muslim faithful and encourage peaceful coexistence with other religious communities, as advocated by the Interreligious Council of Uganda.

He emphasised the importance of fostering peace and stability within the country.

During the meeting, UMSC officials, including Sheikh Imran Ssali, the Secretary for Religious Affairs, and Haj Muhmood Kateregga Namuguzi Sebuganda, an Executive Member, also spoke to the Imams, encouraging them in their spiritual responsibilities.

Musoke provided an overview of Nabugabo Swadaka’s goals, which focus on supporting Imams’ welfare and promoting Islam across the country. The meeting concluded with Mufti Mubaje’s salutations and apologies for his absence due to other commitments.
