"Our team is always on the ground to make sure no animals are found on the streets," he said.
David Kyeyune, a Municipal Councillor for Kassana Ward, explained that the council has introduced penalties for animals found on the streets.
"If a cow is caught, the owner is fined Shs 150,000 per cow. For goats and sheep, the fine is Shs 80,000 each," said Kyeyune.
Kyeyune appealed to Mubende residents to comply with the rules governing animal rearing in towns.
"We want our people to graze their animals, but they must prioritize zero-grazing because our streets are always busy, and these animals could cause accidents," he added.
Road users, particularly boda boda riders in Mubende Municipality, have expressed frustration over the situation.
"Our town feels like a farm because almost every street has animals," they said.
"When you look at Main Street and Lubanga Road, which are among the busiest streets in town, they feel like habitats for these animals," the road users added.
Businesspeople also complained about losses caused by the animals.
"We are constantly fighting with animals on our stalls as they destroy our goods, like bananas and other items," said Nambatya, a local vendor.
Nambatya called upon the authorities to find a solution.
"We request our leaders to take the necessary steps to control these animals and prevent them from disturbing us," she added.
