Next Media has once again raised the alarm over individuals misusing their brand to commit fraud, with the latest case involving a man identified as Mulinde Alvin.
According to a tweet on X from the media house, Mulinde has been falsely claiming to work for NBS TV, even going as far as presenting a fake NBS ID to deceive people and steal equipment. The company clarified that Mulinde is not, and has never been, their employee.
“This behavior is unacceptable and criminal. We strongly condemn these actions and urge the public to stay vigilant,” Next Media said in their statement.
The media house has dealt with similar cases in the past and has consistently denounced such fraudulent activities.
To further protect the public, Next Media highlighted its soliciting policy, which prohibits employees from charging money to cover news stories. They also assured the public that any employee found violating these standards faces strict disciplinary measures.
Next Media is urging anyone who encounters fraudsters like Mulinde Alvin to immediately report them to the police. The public can also verify claims or report suspicious individuals by calling or sending a WhatsApp message to +256 703078201.
