NUP Hosts PWDs for International Disability Day
Several persons living with disabilities (PWDs) gathered at the National Unity Platform (NUP) offices in Makerere Kavule today to commemorate the International Day of Persons living with Disabilities.
The annual event, observed every December 3, aims to promote the rights and well-being of PWDs globally.

At the NUP offices, individuals with varying disabilities, including those with hearing impairments and mobility challenges, convened for the celebration.
The event also attracted supporters and activists advocating for inclusivity and equal opportunities for PWDs.
NUP President Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, popularly known as Bobi Wine, is expected to address the gathering later in the day to mark the occasion and reaffirm the party’s commitment to championing the rights of persons living with disabilities.
The International Day of Persons living with Disabilities was proclaimed by the United Nations in 1992 to increase awareness and understanding of disability issues and promote a more inclusive society.
