The opening day of the convention was dedicated to the youth, featuring sessions led by youthful speakers such as Rev. Simon Peter Ddembe Lya Yesu, Rev Emmanuel Koboi, Rev. Bannet Ariho, and Rev. Grace Kavuma.

Rt Rev Moses Banja, Bishop of Namirembe Diocese, is expected to attend and contribute to the proceedings.

The focus of the day was to empower the next generation with spiritual insights and key messages that address their role in shaping the future.

Among the topics discussed were Next Generation Preservation (Psalm 73), Remember God in Your Days of Youth (Ecclesiastes 12:1-14), and Unmasking the Spirit of the World.

Additional sessions covered *Strengthening Our Wavering Faith* (James 1:2-8) and *Subjecting Uganda to the Uncreated God* (Philippians 2:9-11). These teachings were complemented by praise and worship, gospel music ministries, and intercessory prayers.

Tomorrow, the Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, The Most Rev. Dr. Stephen Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu, will officially open the convention.

The Nnabagereka of Buganda, Sylvia Nagginda, will be the Special Guest.

In an address at the Provincial Secretariat in Namirembe on October 30, 2024, Archbishop Kaziimba highlighted the importance of prayer, especially in light of the challenges facing the nation.

He mentioned pressing issues such as the Marriage Bill, the Coffee Bill, poverty, domestic violence, liberalism, nudity among young people, youth unemployment, and homosexuality, all of which he said call for divine intervention.

“It’s of great importance at a time like this, when we are challenged by these issues, to come to the place of prayer and plead for the intervention of the Lord,” Archbishop Kaziimba said.

“This convention is an opportunity for us as the Church, nation, and families to come together at the feet of Jesus for prayer, spiritual renewal, mediation, transformation, and revival. Who knows what God can do when we pray as a nation?”

The Second Provincial Prayer Convention, which runs from November 20th to 23rd, 2024, is organized by the Directorate of Mission and Outreach with support from various ministry partners.
