Kikuube district councilors ask Museveni's intervention on missing  NRM mobiliser
Michael Ayeranga has been missing since October.

The Kikuube district council has resolved to write to President Museveni to intervene in the disappearance of Michael Christopher Ayeranga, an NRM mobiliser.

A motion that was presented by Nicholas Kiiza, the workers representative demanding that the head of state compels  security agencies to produce Ayeranga to court.

"Honorable speaker, it's very bad for us to sit here and discuss other issues as if all is well, we all know what Ayeranga has done in Bunyoro, his family members, friends are all in fear. No one is aware of his where abouts after was kidnapped on October , 3  and up to date he has not been produced anywhere," Kiiza said.

Nestori Tumwesigye, the Kyangwali district councilor asked the council to make a resolution and write  to the president to intervene in the matter.

"This council has powers, my suggestion is we write to the president asking him to intervene if it means asking to meet him let's do it, we need Ayeranga," Tumwesigye said

Evas Mungulyeke, the workers female representative in Kikuube, faulted other leaders in Bunyoro  that she said seem not bothered .

"We have many big shots in Bunyoro, including members of parliament and ministers but they all seem not bothered. Since Ayeranga is our son in Kikuube, we need to do our best to have him set free. I doubt that he committed any crime that is unforgivable by the president, " Mungulyeke noted.

Canon Edward Musingye, the chief administrative officer advised councilors to use their lawyers seeking court to compel security to produce Ayeranga died or alive.

"Writing to the president is alright, but the best if finding a lawyer, then file a habius corpus to produce him dead or alive since it's gone beyond the mandatory 48 hours rule ," he guided.
