Mbarara City authorities hails real estate companies for solving land disputes
Mbarara City mayor, Robert Kakyebezi

The Mbarara city mayor Robert Kakyebezi has expressed gratitude for the changing face of adversity in land wrangling in the area.

Kakyebezi made the remarks on Friday while officiating at the Win with Amity Realtors Ltd, a campaign aimed at uplifting Mbarara City residents in fulfilling their dream of owning land through a promotion.

"Real estate companies are minimizing land grabbing, wrangles, and fake titled land, which was initially a disaster to the city population," Kakyebezi said.

He challenged residents with some money, not to mind how distant land could be from the city today compared to the rapid growth of the city.

"Development can displace people for the good and if you have some money don'thesitateto buy land distant from the city because the city and development can find you there tomorrow," Kakyebezi added.

According to the Mbarara city speaker Bonny Tashobya, real estate companies in Mbarara city like Amity Realtors measurements are up to the standards of the city.

"Amity and other real estate companies are assisting in planning for the city. The real estate is selling the right measurements and are approved by our physical and city planner," Tashobya said.

"We have seen companies selling land twice to different people. We have surveyors who work with the company surveyors for authentic service."

Hebert Tushabe ,Operations Director Amity Realtors noted that "in a bid to give back to our people,  this promotion will see people winning 3 land titles, 3 boda bodas, trip for two to Dubai and the campaign will run from November, 8, 2024 to January, 15, 2025".

Tushabe adds that "30% is given to every customer who wants to buy in land in installments and given 4 months grace period to complete however there is also 'Tunguuka na Amity' meaning develop with Amity where there is a saving scheme, starting saving with Shs 20,000 and after a period one acquires titled land.

The Mbarara city authorities say this will see the city vacant land well planned for in the future since the companies sell standards measurements.
