Abdallah Tusiime, the traffic officer, stationed at the Mawanda Road-John Babiiha Road intersection, was last week seen, braving heavy rain while diligently directing traffic at City Oil Junction in Kamwokya, earning widespread praise for his work ethic and patriotism.

The Uganda Police Force's official X (formerly Twitter) handle shared the officer's story, highlighting how his enthusiasm for the job shone through despite the unfavorable weather conditions.

According to the post by the Uganda Police Force (UPF) Spokesperson ,Kituuma Rusoke, the officer’s actions have not gone unnoticed by the public or the police leadership. Many residents and motorists who witnessed his dedication took to social media to applaud his efforts, which quickly went viral.

The Inspector General of Police(IGP)Abbas Byakagaba conveyed his personal appreciation, acknowledging the officer’s patriotic spirit and the high level of professionalism he exhibited.

In his message, Byakagaba emphasized the importance of officers like him, who go above and beyond to serve the public, rain or shine.

“This officer has set an example for his colleagues and the country at large,” the statement read. “His positive attitude towards his duties will not only be recognized but also rewarded.” He said.

The recognition of this officer serves as a reminder of the hard work many law enforcement officers put in daily to ensure the safety and well-being of the public, often under challenging circumstances.
