Prisons say three Mpox cases so far recorded
Uganda Prisons Services have said they have so far recorded three cases of Mpox in the various detention centres around the county.
Updating the country on Monday, Prisons spokesperson, Frank Baine said the three cases have been reported in Masindi(two cases) and Nakasongola.

“They are all in recovery and therefore the situation is not alarming, “Baine said.
He however said the in case of escalation of the cases, they have adequately prepared with an isolation centre established in Bamunanika prison in Luweero district.
“Coming of Covid taught us how to manage those epidemics and now we are working closely with Ministry of Health to combat the situation.”
Uganda has recorded 41 cases of Mpox since its outbreak earlier this year.
The World Health Organization declared Mpox a public health emergency of international concern in August, following the emergence of a new variant.
The outbreak, initially detected earlier this year in the Democratic Republic of Congo, has since spread to neighbouring countries.
