BUSIA " Uganda’s 62nd Independence Day took a historic turn in Busia District, where Colonel Deo Akiiki, the Deputy Defence Spokesperson, commanded a milestone military parade.

In a post on X after the event, Colonel Akiiki expressed deep gratitude to the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) and the Uganda People's Defence Forces (UPDF) leadership for granting him the honor of leading the parade.

He described the event as “the first of its kind in Uganda, South of the Sahara, and North of River Limpopo since the advent of our independence.”
