The Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) officially introduced its new top officials to the political wing of the institution today at City Hall.

The newly appointed team, led by the acting Executive Director Frank Rusa, Deputy Executive Director Robert Nowere, and Director of Public Health and Environment Sarah Zalwango, was welcomed by Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago and other political leaders of the city.

During the event, Lord Mayor Lukwago expressed his optimism about the new leadership, emphasising the need for collaboration between the political and technical wings of KCCA.

He highlighted several critical issues that need urgent attention, including waste management, traffic congestion, and the overall development of city infrastructure.

“Our city faces numerous challenges, and it is essential that we work closely to ensure that Kampala becomes a city that works for everyone. The residents demand better services, and we are here to deliver,” Lukwago remarked.

In response, Frank Rusa pledged to lead KCCA with transparency, accountability, and a focus on transforming Kampala into a well-organized, livable city. He called for teamwork between all city stakeholders, noting that such collaboration is key to overcoming the city’s growing challenges.

“With a unified approach, I believe we can meet the needs of our residents and ensure that Kampala is not only functional but thrives as a modern city,” Rusa said.

Robert Nowere and Sarah Zalwango also expressed their commitment to enhancing public service delivery, focusing on sustainability and health as core elements in their mandates.

The introduction of the new leadership team signals a fresh start for KCCA, as residents hope for improved service delivery and better urban management under the new administration.
