The court ordered the prosecution to hand in key evidence, including DNA analysis reports, ballistic evidence, and CCTV footage, due to concerns over the handling and presentation of exhibits.

The judge ruled that while certain evidence, including a DNA report from the forensic analysis, could be admitted, other evidence collected from the crime scene would only be accepted once the analysts who gathered it testify in court.

"We have admitted some evidence, but it is crucial that the analysts who gathered the remaining pieces of evidence testify before they are fully admitted," said Judge Muwata.

The defense had complained that partial disclosure of evidence made it difficult for them to prepare an adequate defense.

They specifically requested complete disclosure of DNA analysis reports, including Annex II of the DNA Report, which was deemed illegible.

They also requested a complete copy of the case file, including all records, bench notes, phone logs, and photographs.

Molly Katanga is accused of murdering her husband, Henry Katanga in November last year, an accusation she denies.
