“I am delighted to learn that you are already partnering with some of our Dioceses in key strategic development areas such as land registration, asset financing, education, and health. We need to strengthen this collaboration further, especially in developing products that cater to our retired Bishops, clergy, and lay ministers,” Archbishop Kaziimba stated.

He emphasized the need to broaden this partnership across various aspects of ministry, highlighting that the Church of Uganda operates 5,200 primary schools, 630 secondary schools, 50 vocational schools, five chartered universities, and 487 health facilities, including hospitals and health centers.

“Above all, we are in the business of preaching the gospel. All these areas call for intentional collaboration,” he added.

Mr. Julius Kakeeto, the Managing Director of PostBank Uganda, acknowledged the Church of Uganda as a reliable banking partner.

“PostBank is aligned with the mission of the Church of Uganda. We have repurposed to focus on transformation and prosperity for Ugandans. The Dioceses we are working with can attest to our strong working relationship, as we aim to develop communities together,” Mr. Kakeeto remarked.

According to Mr. Abaasi Mawanda, the Head of Business and Institutional Banking at PostBank, the bank has developed products that support the education, health, and finance sectors for the Church. “Financial inclusion is our primary mandate for the Church of Uganda. That’s why we have been diligently banking for several Church of Uganda-founded health facilities and educational institutions, transforming the saving culture of Christians through our innovative SACCO products,” Mr. Mawanda explained.

During his visit, the Archbishop also prayed with the staff and encouraged them to uphold the virtues of integrity and honesty.

Drawing lessons from 1 Timothy 6:10, he cautioned them against the abuse of money and emphasized the opportunity they have to work with a rapidly growing bank.
