UBA visits Gulu's Restore Leadership High School under the Read Africa initiative

United Bank for Africa  Uganda, under the auspices of the UBA Foundation has  paid a visit to Restore Leadership High School Gulu.

This visit was part of the ongoing "Read Africa" initiative, which is dedicated to fostering a reading culture among students across Africa.

The UBA Uganda team was led by their Head of Compliance, Julius Mukana, and Head of Marketing, Hoziana Niyonsaba, accompanied by a team from our Gulu branch.

Upon arrival, the team was warmly welcomed by the head teacher of Restore Leadership High School, Opiyo John Bosco, and the Director of Studies, Mr. Onek Denis Amooti.

During the visit, Mukana encouraged the students to study hard and remain consistent in their efforts to achieve high grades, emphasizing that education is the key to a better future.

Ms. Niyonsaba added to this by sensitizing the students on the importance of reading, urging them to uncover the secrets hidden in books and to make reading a lifelong habit.

As part of the Read Africa initiative, UBA Uganda donated a collection of English and Literature books aimed at enriching the student’s knowledge and inspiring a passion for reading.

Recognizing the importance of environmental conservation, we also provided dustbins to promote cleanliness and sustainability within the school environment.

In his remarks, Opiyo  expressed his heartfelt gratitude to UBA Uganda for their generous support.

He emphasized the importance of such contributions in shaping the future of the students, who are the leaders of tomorrow.

"The Read Africa initiative by the UBA Foundation is committed to inspiring young minds through literature, nurturing future leaders by broadening their horizons with books. Our contribution to Restore Leadership High School Gulu is a testament to our commitment to education, empowerment, and environmental stewardship," UBA said.

"As we continue to drive this initiative across Uganda, we remain dedicated to making a positive impact on the communities we serve, ensuring that every student has the resources they need to succeed."
