UBOS to spend Shs3bn on post-enumeration survey
Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) will invest more than 3 billion shillings in a Post-Enumeration Survey (PES) to address discrepancies in the recent national population census.
The move comes in response to reports of uncounted individuals during the census.
Didacus Okoth, UBOS spokesperson, announced that 1,000 enumerators will be trained by the end of this week.
The PES is scheduled to commence in August and September 2024, aiming to validate the 2024 census results and resolve complaints from those who believe they were missed.
The survey will be conducted across all 135 districts and 11 cities in Uganda. It will include all individuals who spent the previous night in a household, including security personnel on duty.
However, the survey will exclude educational institutions, religious institutions, refugee camps, homes for the disabled, and hostels.
