Despite a recent court ruling upholding the 1.7 billion shillings service award to four Commissioners, Theodore Ssekikubo, the MP for Lwemiyaga County, has insisted that his censure motion against them remains unaffected.
In a statement, Ssekikubo clarified that his motion's prayers are distinct from those addressed in the court ruling. "We are seeing in the media hype that a particular court has sat and we are going on record, it hasn't erased off our motion, it is still standing," he said.
Ssekikubo emphasized that the court's decision does not impact his motion, which seeks to hold the Commissioners accountable for their actions. "Our prayers are different from those raised in the ruling, and therefore, it can't be affected by the court ruling," he explained.
The MP expressed his readiness to proceed with the motion, saying, "May we know as petitioners, when the notice is due to be issued so that we can prepare accordingly, for that debate."
