Deputy IGG Patricia Achan has directed the arrest of three  parish chiefs  over extortion of money from Parish Development Model sacco members.

The arrested include Lawrence Baguma Bubogo parish chief, Godfrey Katungi, Igwanjura Parish chief and Charles Kusemerwa, a community facilitator for DRDIP .

The Deputy IGG is in Kabwoya sub county in Kikuube District where she is holding  community scorecards for various programs especially in regards to service delivery.

In a move to assess the rate of DRDIP implementation but also effectiveness of service delivery in Kikuube District,  Achan under her office  held a community scorecard meeting with residents of Kikuube district at Kabwoya trading centre, to assess the status of completion of of implementation of DRDIP and other public service delivery programmes in the district.

While here,  it was noted that people hardly get government money especially under PDM, parish chiefs named as beneficiaries.

It's here that the deputy IGG directed the arrest of the trio  said to have been key in extorting money.

"Corruption is one of the big problem we have in the country, but this has to end. People are given responsibilities but instead extort money from the poor people who government wants to get out of poverty!  I direct the arrest of these people, but also the hunt for more who are not here continues," Achan said

She note  with concern a lot of  absenteeism in health centers and schools .

"People ask for jobs but after getting them they never deliver. We  have found out that in schools, pupils turn up but teachers are absent, in health centers medicine is said to be sold and medics come late. This is the biggest problem, we have presented to you our findings as IGG  and we hope as the district leaders ,we can take action but also ensure people deliver to the expectation of the population."

Canon Edward Musigye the Kikuube chief administrative officer, said he will investigate and take action.

" I have a lot of reports and  I'm going to look into them for action to be taken. I can tell you I will clean up the district," Musigye promised.

Peter Banura, the district chairperson , implored the community to keep alerting them where they notice gaps in project implementation and  those that ask for money to offer government programs.

"As leaders, we can't be everywhere but you are our eyes where we are not.Report these corruption cases and we will take action to ensure  sanity and proper implementation of government programs", Banura assured.
