Wazalendo recognised among fastest growing Saccos in Africa

The African Confederation of Cooperative Savings and Credit Associations (ACCOSCA) has recognised Wazalendo Savings and Credit Cooperative Society as a premier SACCO in Uganda and one of Africa's top ten fastest-growing SACCOs..

ACCOSCA Executive Director George Ombado made the announcement during a strategic assessment visit to the WSACCO headquarters in Kiwatule.

The ACCOSCA group, comprising its Board of Directors, travelled to Uganda to examine strategic plans and show support with the Uganda Cooperative Savings and Credit Union (UCSCU) in growing the SACCO business.

"We believe that partnerships with successful SACCOs like Wazalendo will foster more progressive SACCOs across Africa, thereby promoting economic empowerment through the SACCO Business Model," said Mr. Ombado.

ACCOSCA, headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya, unites National Cooperative Associations across Africa.

Mr. Ombado attributed Wazalendo SACCO's remarkable growth to its exemplary leadership, professionalism, high-quality services, and robust community engagement.

Col. Joseph Freddy Onata, Wazalendo SACCO's Executive Officer, speaking on behalf of the Chairman, expressed gratitude to ACCOSCA and UCSCU for their ongoing support, including capacity building and advocacy efforts.

"We are honored to host the ACCOSCA leadership for this strategic assessment visit. We shared our progress and activities with them, and their appreciation is deeply encouraging. ACCOSCA has pledged continued opportunities for Wazalendo SACCO to enhance and expand the services we offer to our members," said Col. Onata.
