Buganda most populated region
The 2024 National Housing and Population Census put Uganda's population at 45.9 million with over 10 million households.
Majority of the population, statistics put it that it lives in Buganda sub-region standing at eleven million and one hundred and thirteen thousands people
The region dominates other regions like Busoga which comes closest with 4.37 million, West Nile stands at 3.9 million, Ankole 3.6 million and Tooro has 3.37 million.
Kigezi and Karamojja remain the least populated regions with 1.78 million and 1.45 million respectively
Statistics also point to Kampala as the most populated city with 1.875 million residents while 627000 visit the city on daily.
Arua City has 380,000, Jinja 292,000, Mbale 289,000, Masaka 285,000, Mbarara 261,000, Lira 246,000, Gulu 232,000, Hoima 141,000 and Fort Potral 135,000 while Soroti city is the least popular city with 133,000 people.
