BUTALEJA | Police in Butaleja District are investigating a case of suspected drowning a yet-t-be-identified male person whose body was found in Bumbone Village of Nanyutu Parish.

The deceased, estimated to be aged 34 years, is suspected to be a Mugisu by tribe and a resident of Manafwa, either Namisindwa or Bududa districts.

The body was discovered floating on river Manafwa towards Soho B Village by one George Mauta, local chairperson of Bambone Village, who reported the discovery to police.

A team of homicide and other detectives visited the Scene and body was intercepted, tied with the rope by the residents.

According to police, the deceased was putting on a black long-sleeved shirt without trouser/under wear.

Looking at the composing body, the person is suspected to have died two to three days ago.

According to Bukedi Region Police, it is suspected that the deceased could have drowned in waters due heavy downpour currently experienced n the region.

The body was conveyed to Mbale City mortuary pending post-mortem.
