Katikkiro Mayiga welcomes new county chiefs

Buganda premier Charles Peter Mayiga has welcomed the newly appointed Buganda County Chiefs.

Katikkiro Mayiga says the King wants them to strengthen service delivery and therefore he thanked those who retired and welcomed those who have joined the field of service.

The King recently made changes in the chiefs of the Counties today the new chiefs and their deputies were in an orientation meeting with the Minister in charge of Local Government, Joseph Kawuki.

The new Saza Chiefs promised that although the king appointed them with other responsibilities, they pledged to divide their time properly to ensure that they fulfill their responsibilities.

‘’am so happy for the opportunity offered to me to serve the Kingdom and I pledge to give my time to serving the people of Mawokota’’ says Nanono Sarah the Kayima for Mawokota County.

They gate into office at a time when land grabbing is rampant in various parts of the Kingdom and pledged to resolve land issues urging Kabaka’s subjects to stop selling off their land.

Joseph Kawuki explained various issues to them as well as providing them with necessary documents and informing them of the responsibilities facing ahead.

Saza Chiefs, their deputies and Gombolola Chiefs represent the Kabaka at County and Gombolola Level respectively.
