Stop flaunting your ignorance, SFC chief tells Ssemujju

It all started with the debate on the ongoing rehabilitation of the Mandela National Stadium Namboole after the Speaker of Parliament led a delegation on an oversight tour of the facility.

MPs Jonathan Odur and Joseph Ssewungu tasked the State Minister for Sports Peter Ogwang to confirm whether the national team, the Cranes, will host its home games at Namboole after government releasing the remaining balance of the Shs17 billion.

But as the minister was responding, Kiira Municipality MP raised a procedural matter.

"Madam Speaker, instead of the Sports minister explaining, UPDF is the contractor and it has representatives here in this August House, can we get an explanation from these UPDF MPs on the quality of works going at Namboole?" Ssemujju said.

But even before he could finish his submission, the Deputy Commander of the Special Forces Command (SFC) Brigadier General Charity Bainababo put him to order.

"Madam Speaker, is it in order for Ssemujju to show his ignorance in his submission of failing to differentiate between UPDF MPs and the UPDF Engineering Brigade?" Gen Bainababo, one of the 10 army representatives to Parliament, said.
