President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni who was also a chief guest at the graduation ceremony remained tight lipped about the arrest in his speech.

Instead, he thanked Basajjabalaba for the 'never give up' attitude and his exemplary entrepreneurial skills. President Museveni also asked the graduates to emulate their director and avoid being idle.

“I must commend Mr Hassan Basajjabalaba, the proprietor of this university. He has multiplied his talents. He is generally restless, always trying out something new. Sometimes he fails, at times he succeeds. He is a good entrepreneurial example for young people,” Museveni said.

“Again, I congratulate the graduands and I urge you to listen to the counsel of your vice chancellor. He said, keep alive. Be disciplined and do not get ruined by alcohol, sex, food, etc,” he added.

Prominent among the graduands, was Hon. Anita Among, the Woman member of parliament for Bukedea district who graduated with a Bachelor of Laws. She received a plaque from President Museveni for her contributions to the Kansanga based university.
