Residents at Busagula Village in Kigangazi Town Council, Bukomansimbi District were left in shock after a tree that fell seven years ago rose up.
Residents from different villages have gathered to witness this tree that rose up without anyone’s help.
Locals narrate that the tree (omutuba), grew for 30 years after being planted but in 2016 the heavy rains brought it down.
However, they were this week astonished after the tree rose up.
"The whole of it fell down even the roots were out of the ground. "
The tree is at Enock Mukalazi’s garden, a resident of Busagula, in Kigangazi Town Council Bukomansimbi District.
Residents say that the tree has surprised them according to its appearance.
"Last week I fetched fire wood from this Mutuba tree and I have been fetching fire wood from it but I got surprised when I was told that it risen up," Tusasirwa Florence a resident of Busagula village said.
Some of the residents have seen this as a blessing from God and some have started putting coins and coffee seeds under the tree while kneeling down asking for blessings from their ancestors.
Residents have said that this is not the first time seeing such wonders in their village but asking why it is always them.
"Last time we woke up when the river has disappeared and two weeks back we received baboons. Now this tree."
Joseph Lugudde the LC1 Chairperson Busaggula said the village has its norms and beliefs after years back, in order to receive rain , there are things they had to first do and then rain falls.
"Our parents used to climb a hill and pray then we receive the rain but they were all dead."
However, others say these are blessings that are going to lead to the development of their village .
Mary Nassiwa, a traditional healer, warned residents against going to see the tree saying it might have some bad omen.
"You have to fence it so that people can not go direct to it because some people have problems that contradicts to traditional beliefs. They may cause problems on our village and you may find when all people left Busagula and turned into a bush."
