As the country waits for the 7th edition of the CBA Vintage and Classic Auto Show slated for July 28th, proprietors of the show have expressed their worries on the government move to ban the importation of old cars in the country.
According to John Niwagaba, the vintage and classic auto show proprietor, government needs to rethinks its decision or exclude the kind of cars they exhibit.
The CBA Vintage and Classic Auto Show aims at showcasing some of the oldest, best maintained cars and motorcycles that Uganda has to offer.
Speaking at the launch the Chairman of the Uganda Vintage and Classic, John Niwagaba warns that the new government policy will make it impossible for car collections to grow in the country.
Niwagaba argues that, “We don’t import more than 2-3 cars and this can’t be a Traffic and Road Safety threat or environmental threat. We ask to be exempted since we use these cars to get money and it’s a growing trend to exhibit vintage cars.”
The 2018 vintage and classic auto show to be held with the theme beauty and the beast will not only show cases old cars but even fashion trends.
