Nakifuma Muslims Urged to Maintain Discipline Beyond Eid Celebrations
Muslim leaders in Nakifuma County have called on believers to uphold discipline, moral conduct and religious values beyond Eid celebrations, while also raising concerns over limited access to clean water for mosque and community activities.

Muslims in Nakifuma County have been urged to maintain discipline and continue practising good morals even after Eid celebrations.

The call was made by Imam Muzafaru Kasujja during Eid prayers at Masjid Tawhid Mosque, where he encouraged Muslims to remain committed to Islamic teachings and values beyond the festive period.

The Imam urged believers to spread Islam by taking their children to Islamic schools so that the religion continues to grow and endure within communities.

He emphasised that the Quran commands believers to seek knowledge and develop a deeper understanding of Allah.

Kasujja also encouraged Muslims to use Eid as a period of self-reflection and moral renewal, urging them to maintain the good behaviour displayed during the celebrations.

He advised believers to dress decently, avoid adultery and live in ways that honour Allah.

The Imam further criticised financially able Muslim families that fail to enrol their children in Muslim-founded schools, saying religious education remains important in strengthening faith and improving one’s relationship with Allah.

During the prayers, Sulais Abubaker Wavamuno appealed to government to extend clean water services to Nakifuma, saying the Muslim community faces serious challenges accessing water for mosque activities and domestic use.

According to the religious leaders, the nearest water source is about one mile away from the mosque.

“We are required to pray five times a day, and water is one of the major essentials in our prayers,” he said.

Meanwhile, Nakifuma County Member of Parliament Sulaiman Kiwanuka condemned discrimination and pride based on race, wealth or social status.

He reminded believers that all people are equal before Allah and should treat one another with dignity and respect.

Kiwanuka also pledged to support the community with a water project once residents provide land where the water source can be established.

After the prayers, Muslims took part in the traditional Eid sacrifice ceremony led by the legislator, before meat and rice were distributed to Muslim families within the community.
