Police operations in Adjumani District are set to improve following the delivery of eleven brand-new motorcycles to sub-county and town council police stations across the district.
The motorcycles were handed over on January 7, 2026, by the Fleet Management Office in partnership with the Police Mechanical Workshop.
Each of the district’s nine sub-counties and two town council police stations received one motorcycle.
North West Nile Regional Police Public Relations Officer, SP Asea Collins, said the initiative is part of a broader presidential directive to strengthen policing at the grassroots.
“This initiative is in line with the presidential directive to ensure that every sub-county police station is equipped with three motorcycles to enhance operational efficiency and improve service delivery to our communities,” SP Asea said.
He added that the motorcycles will significantly improve police mobility, allowing officers to respond more quickly to incidents, patrol hard-to-reach areas, and bolster crime prevention efforts.
“With these motorcycles, our officers will be able to serve the public more effectively and respond promptly to emergencies across the district,” he said.
SP Asea expressed gratitude to the President of Uganda and the leadership of the Inspector General of Police for prioritising the needs of the North West Nile region.
He also called on the local community to support the initiative, stressing that effective policing requires strong cooperation between police and the public.
